Produced by graduating students, each annual magazine from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) examines a single garment in a wonderfully witty way.
The 2025 edition sees the class examine the humble T-shirt. But there’s a twist (literally!). The issue is split in two; open from one cover and find an overview of the T-shirt: open from the other cover, and discover a world without the T.
The two parts of the issue twist out so the reader can flick through each half side by side; the two sides have been designed to by read as one, bringing the T-shirt and absence of T-shirt together. Shoots stretch across the two parts, as do texts and headlines, to make an everyday garment interesting.
It’s a very clever concept that takes great advantage of the print format in a way we’ve not seen before.
