Published by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and with a natural and earthy front cover, this is Harvard Design Magazine’s 53rd issue, exploring the theme ‘Reuse and Repair’.

Inside, the School of Design addresses and expands upon the vital movement of reuse and, in doing so, ‘promotes bringing new life to what already exists’. Rich yet accessible in its examination of renewal projects, this issue features lessons from indigenous cultures on the values of repair and treating buildings as ‘kin we wish to reconcile with’, as well as reflections on how to design in the face of ‘endless fires’ in Los Angeles.

Other features include Max Bond Jr.’s housing design, finding beauty in midcentury concrete, and reconstruction as a strategy in Ukraine.
