‘Amateur & Art’

This is the Spring/Summer 2025 issue of the art magazine ‘dedicated to amateurs, artists and collectors,’ celebrating twenty issues and ten years in print.

Featuring a metallic purple confetti dappled cover, the issue opens with a hazy, stream of consciousness-like editor’s letter from Carine Soyer, which weaves together some of what you’ll encounter within: a window into the home of circus enthusiast and collector Gilles Maignant; psychiatrist Mathias Mazaltob’s figurative paintings; the rhizomatic origins of psychologist Agnès Santourian’s nature inspired paintings; and a conversation with art dealer and gallerist Christian Berst on the 20th anniversary of his Paris-based art brut gallery.

As usual, a broad and visually stimulating mix of practices and personalities.
