Creative director: Hamish Bowles
Editor-in-chief: Emily Tobin

Published under its current moniker since being bought by Condé Nast in 1983, The World of Interiors is a chateau among hovels in the land of glossy interiors magazines. Its fondness for obscurity and unearthing forgotten architectural treasures around the globe—along with an unabashed ruin fetish—has earned it cult-like status among many who wouldn’t ordinarily pick up an interiors magazine. Despite the luxury advertising and ample dose of villas, manors and modernist rarities, there’s always something about the WoI that feels unaffected by the aspirationalism saturating the pages of its peers.

This is the December 2025 ‘Miniature’ limited edition, taking ‘a thorough look at what life in miniature can elucidate’. Inside, you’ll find features from December’s newsstand issue, alongside plenty of additional exclusive pocket-sized content. Highlights include a 30 page spread titled ’Shrinking the Estate’, exploring hobbyists enduring fascination with doll’s houses, the restoration of Petronella Oortman’s 17th century miniature mansion, and a facsimile of 1920s royalty and one of Windsor’s major tourist attractions—Queen Mary’s scaled-down palace. You’ll also find plenty of close-up images of objects, allowing for a greater appreciation of the small details in the objects that make up the fabric of our lives.
