We Are Makers #14

270 x 200mm, 124 pages
Glasgow, UK
Quarterly
First published 2020
Created by: Kate and Jack Lennie

Created by a couple of self-identified makers, the Glasgow-born publication We Are Makers exists to connect the reader and the maker while providing an opportunity for in-depth stories to be shared, craft to be (deservedly) shown off and creative communities cultivated.

The fourteenth issue has a charming quality to it as it celebrates time-honoured practises such as wooden puppetry, stain-glass art and the spiritual ritual of weaving. The We Are Makers team travelled to France where they visited 'La Maison Lucquet'; a blacksmithing house that preserves the tradition whilst passing the knowledge on to those who are curious. The team also hopped over to Slovenia to visit Miroslav Hric, another maker who continues the legacy of a traditional skill, in this case, coin and medal art.
