‘Archive and analytics of personal wardrobes’
Founded by former Nike footwear designer Colin Behr, Wardrobe Theory Project is dedicated to sustainability in fashion—as they put it, ‘We find ourselves at the intersection of how fashion makes us feel while understanding its impact on the environment.’
Inspired by the taxonomic design of Japanese streetwear magazines, WTP is pleasingly organised into two sections divided by paper stock: a matt ‘Features’ segment is followed by a glossy ‘Wardrobe’ inventory. Both sections bring new angles to fashion: the former consists of detailed writing about the subject, and the latter adds a more visual, infographic-orientated to the subject. The magazine is a fascinating addition to fashion in print that deserves more attention.
In issue three:, Andrew Groves uses his archive of menswear as a basis to reflect on the importance of archiving items often regarded as passing fads; the ‘How to’ advice section advises on fixing a hole in a garment; and the ‘Wardrobe’ section analyses 100 pieces from five people’s wardrobes.
