This exciting new launch surveys pop culture, looking back at a different era every issue through contemporary reports published in the music and youth culture press.
Issue one looks at the post-punk eighties in London and New York, with reports on Kraftwerk from Ritz magazine, graffiti from Village Voice, and Spandau Ballet in Sounds. Each is contextualised and updated, and many accompanied by shots of the original printed versions of the text.
Plus there’s a wonderful set of photo stories, including Graham Smith’s reportage of a bank holiday weekend in Brighton, and James Shabazz’s portrait of young black New Yorkers.
What will be a nostalgiac trip for some, will be a revealing resource for others. We can’t wait to see future editions.
