‘A three course meal as a magazine’
Family Style describes itself as ‘a fantasy dinner party in the form of an arts and culture journal.’ While the name is borrowed most obviously from the style of shared eating, it is also inspired by the congregation of a shared discourse.
Titled ‘Time Sensitive’, this packed seventh issue is Family Style’s annual fashion edition, exploring ‘the clock itself—and our various toxic relationships with it’. For editor-in-chief Joshua Glass, it’s a personal chance to reflect on the connection between time and the process of making a magazine, examining the pressing demands of the perpetual print cycle. Alongside this issue’s cover stars—multimedia artist and photographer Lorna Simpson, model Migoa Majoang, and actresses Indya Moore and Isabelle Huppert—you’ll also find the likes of Nick Cave, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Julien d’Y’s, Lynn Yaeger and Tracee Ellis Ross.
As ever, the issue is cleverly divided into three sections—Aperitivo, Dinner Service, and Something Sweet.
