A Magazine Curated By describes itself as ‘a fashion magazine that explores the universe of a chosen fashion designer in each issue… Each issue celebrates this designer’s ethos: their people, their passion, their stories, emotions, fascinations, spontaneity and authenticity.’ For this special issue, each of the magazine's curators from the past 25 years returns to curate a small selection of pages, either responding to their own issues or presenting new material.
Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte (#11) dedicate their section to the California grizzly bear; Haider Ackermann (#3) collects images from his Instagram stories and feeds; Veronique Branquinho (#6) shares her father's Portuguese cod fritter recipe; Thom Browne (#15) invites friends to reflect on his signature grey; while Lucy and Luke Meier (#21) pair AI imagery with Simpsons-esque dialogue.
Each designer also reinterprets the letter on the front cover of their respective issues—Martin Margiela's (#1) golden balloon 'A' makes the cut for the cover of this appropriately festive edition. There's also a small booklet of interviews inside.
