‘Dedicated to contemporary art and fashion‘
The current winner in the race to be the heftiest fashion publication, Beyond Noise is something of a cultural artefact. The first of the three volumes opens with a manifesto from CNN’s Chief International Correspondent, Clarissa Ward. She makes a passionate plea for the support of women in the many conflict-affected areas of our world, then it’s business as usual: cascading pages of beautiful photography. Fashion, celebrity, art.
The slimmer second book here is titled ‘Carnival of Clutter,’ a collection of work by artist Dinos Chapman, his trademark eerie children’s images. While the third and final book is a more pure-fashion experience.
The three parts are gathered together in a heavy card slipcase, and the whole production features strong typographic interventions from Gareth Hague.
Featuring covers including Margaret Qualley by Gray Sorrenti, Nadia by Nadia Lee Cohen, Carla Sozzani by Paolo Roversi, Gigi Hadid by Larissa Hofmann, and Maria Hassabi by Richard Bush.
