210 x 280 mm, 240 pages
Milan, Italy (English-language)
Bimonthly
Editor-in-chief: Gea Politi
Creative director: Alessio Avventuroso

Published since 1967, Flash Art is dedicated to writing and thinking about contemporary art.

This Summer 2026 edition—themed ‘the Unsolved’—opens with an editorial by editor-in-chief Gea Politi reflecting on recent loss and upheaval across the art world. Touching on the sudden passing of Venice Biennale-appointed curator Koyo Kouoh just 10 days before the opening of its 61st edition, and a series of politically motivated resignations surrounding the event. More widely, this edition is devoted to a refusal of ‘the finished object in favour of the act that produces it.’

Inside, Amy Jones muses on the birds that occasionally flock across the work of artist Lotus L.Kang whose practice flirts with ‘the edges of experience’ and longing; discover a series of living sculptures and audio visual installations devoted to our tech drenched human experience dreamt up by artist Jenna Sutela; and in the ‘Archive’ revisit two previous interviews with pioneering artist and an aficionado in the theme of this edition, Hans Haacke.
