‘Creative, compact and joyful ways to design and live’

Never Too Small is the print endeavour from the well-known YouTube channel of the same name that platforms small space design. It is made from offcuts of the videos, as their conversations with interesting people and their tiny homes always end up going beyond just space and design. The result is an unpretentious interiors and architecture magazine focused on creativity, individuality, sustainability and innovation.

This sixth edition contemplates longevity through the permanence of objects and ideas, leading with Athens-based architecture studio Point Supreme, whose drawing of their apartment design, christened ‘Nadja’, drapes the issue. Founders Marianna Rentzou and Konstantinos Pantazis invite the NTS team into their vision of Athens, culminating in a visit to their home, Petralona House—an inspiring space full of contrasting ideas, materials and colours, in a neighbourhood bordering the Acropolis.

Other highlights include Italian family business Campeggi, who have been pioneering playful and quirky ‘convertibles’ since the 60s; an interview with Sri Lankan artist and designer Kumkum Fernando, whose Saigon window grill inspired sculptures resemble mythological beings—complete with an instructional tear out model; a profile of Italian artist and furniture legend—and design’s moral compass—Enzo Mari; and Grafis Nusantara, an archive preserving pre-digital Indonesian sticker and label designs. Plus, an unofficial guide to the principles of timeless design and an Emoji comprehension quiz.

On the Journal
At Work With Elizabeth Price: ‘Experience and exposure has shown us that the most creative and clever design is found in some of the smallest homes. Constraint breeds creativity as we know… even the smallest homes are full of potential.’
