The biannual magazine known for its city/country-themed collections of graphic design and culture returns with one of its occasional niche volumes. This punky black and red issue, packed with high-contract grainy imagery, collects type as used in fashion, ranging from the clothes themselves to fashion websites like ShowStudio.
The project started with ambitions to include key items such as Vivienne Westwood’s ‘Buy Me’ T-shirt from 2019, but the editors quickly found that the fashion world, even in these times of fashion-art-design crossover, often wouldn’t permit image usage. Their loss!
Luckily, Belgian designer Walter van Beordendonck was an exception; it’s his W-A-R piece setting the tone for the issue on the cover. Look out too for Peter Saville and Mirko Borsche.
