A Music Magazine #2

290 x 350 mm, 72 pages
London, UK
Annual
Published since 2024
Editors: Isa Hess and Nova Nachtom Mautner

Instantly recognisable due to its large format and DIY aesthetic, A Music Magazine is a new independent title with a focus on curating an archive of London’s thriving underground and subcultural music scene. Interviews and snippets from bands, musicians, and industry trailblazers dovetail photo essays documenting the scene itself, coalescing in a labour of love that forms a valuable living archive of a cultural movement.

This sophomore edition opens with an editorial hailing fanzine culture and its capacity for connection, issuing a rallying cry to experience this cultural moment offline. Inside, you’ll find an interview with the founders of Perfect Lives—a Hackney-based independent shop stocking niche ephemera, records, and unassuming hidden gems; an energetic photo essay documenting the single launch of London band Hitman at Bunker Club in Deptford; an introduction to pioneering London-based record label Lost Wisdom; plus, much more.
