Combining slow fashion, art and conversations on mental health, each issue of the small-format and introspective Tummy Ache is dedicated to exploring a single emotion through essays, interviews, poetry and more, with the aim of challenging ‘a culture of emotional stagnation.’
Although Tummy Ache’s fifth issue is the product of sixth months of rumination, its theme—‘horniness’—makes it the ideal companion for the steamy summer months. Striving to unravel the complexities of desire in our contemporary moment, ‘a moment of increased disconnection, digital mediation and consumerism’, features touch on a broad array of topics spanning bondage, consent, expectation, fetish, feminism, identity, intimacy, morality and visibility, alongside further personal meditations reflecting the plurality of experience.
