‘A magazine about what crypto enables’

17 years after ‘peer-to-peer electronic cash’ was first mooted, crypto currency has become a ubiquitous term. But what do we actually know about the technology? How can we decipher the benefits from the risks, especially as Trump and MAGA mix it up with their culture wars?

This magazine sets out to explain the benefits of crypto and blockchain, creating a record of its development. ‘It was made to document history,’ is the bold claim made by the introductory note. Wisely, the publishers chose the Eye magazine creative team to back up that claim.

As Simon Esterson puts it, ‘The aim was to make a very tactile, very visual physical object about a largely digital subject.’ This translates into using 6- and 8-colour presses and special inks including gold and fluorescent Pantones, multiple Fedrigoni papers, and even a unique chip at the back of every copy.

Expect tight design, stunning typography, vivid illustration (courtesy of illustration guru Holly Catford) and bold infographics; it’s a beautiful piece of print that is as much a record of contemporary editorial creativity as it is of current techology.

We’re proud to be the only retail outlet for this special magazine.
