Anyone who thinks design students aren’t interested in magazine design need only look at ‘Cover Image’, a recent book by a group of graduates from Southampton Solent University. The team interviewed 19 magazine designers, including Tony Chambers (Wallpaper*), Alexander Isley (Spy) and Jop van Bennekom (Fantastic Man). There’s plenty of good content, although in typical student fashion the team couldn’t resist designing to the point where reading is hard work. Worth it anyway. Published by Art Book International.
