magCulture Meets Eye
For the fourth edition of magCulture Meets we are pleased to welcome John L Walters and Simon Esterson as they celebrate the launch of the 91st issue of Eye magazine.
Launched in 1990, Eye has been through multiple owners before being bought by editor Walters and art director Esterson in 2008. They continue to publish the graphic design quarterly themselves, and Walters has described the team as the ‘the grand old men of indie magazines.’
John and Simon will be introducing their latest issue which includes Phil Sayers’ images of London street lettering, a profile of Penguin Books designer Romek Marber and a look at a remarkable book about east London printers the Baddeley Brothers.
Join us to hear about the issue, meet John and Simon, have a few beers on us, and collect the latest in our series of magCulture Meets postcards.
Thursday 14 April 2106
Doors open 6.30pm and the talk will start at 7pm.

magCulture Meets… is a monthly talk series. Each evening will provide the opportunity to share a beer with fellow magCulturalists and hear a magazine-maker discuss their project in an informal, relaxed atmosphere.
We’re grateful to Park Communications for their support of the magCulture Meets… series.
