magCulture Meets The Architectural Review

A new season of magCulture Meets kicks off this month with an evening featuring The Architectural Review.

Founded in 1896, the AR has a proud tradition of challenge and criticism, scouring the globe for architecture that provokes and inspires, and relying on its immense archive and critically acclaimed writers to shape architectural discourse. Combine this with a rich history of contemporary editorial design – see covers below – and you have a magazine of interest beyond its natural architectural audience.

Join us to hear editor Manon Mollard take us behind the scenes of the latest issue and to find out more about the AR’s long illustrious history – and what the future holds.

The current issue (above) asks whether books and words shape architecture just as much as buildings and features bookmaker Irma Boom and publisher Lars Müller, as well as visits to the buildings included in the AR Library award shortlist.

This is a unique chance to hear how a long-established magazine continues to be relevant after 123 years.

The evening will see an illustrated talk followed by an audience Q&A.
