Out now: Shellsuit Zombie #2
A rallying call for young design graduates arrived at magCulture recently in the form of issue two of Shellsuit Zombie. Their workshop/event/publishing programme can be compared to other groups like It’s Nice That and YCN (both of whom have new magazines out now, more soon) but the Shellsuit team have a more polemical approach to encouraging graduates to do their own thing.
The magazine mixes the serious and not so serious, a profile of Vince Frost ending with a question about the royal wedding and Mark Sinclair and Neil Ayres from Creative Review being interviewed over a game of darts (above).
Another (sad) highlight for me is the set of photos by Olivia Rose of roadside floral epitaphs found at the sites of fatal traffic accidents and stabbing incidents. Following issue one’s eBoy cover this one was drawn by Noel Fielding, and the issue includes a fold out poster of another artwork by him.
