The Story of The Face

The much-anticipated book ‘The Story of The Face’ is published later this month. To mark this important addition to magazine culture we’re holding a special event in London on 16 November.

Author Paul Gorman and Nick Logan, founder/editor of The Face, will join magCulture’s Jeremy Leslie to discuss the book and the story of this hugely influential magazine.

The Face remains one of the most remarkable examples of a magazine that both reflected its times and led them. Along with i-D and Blitz it channelled the late 1970s post-punk energy into the shiny new romantic eighties and beyond to the third summer of love and nineties rave culture.

In the process it launched the careers of many of today’s leading journalists, photographers, stylists and art directors: Dylan Jones, Julie Burchill, Corinne Day, Neville Brody, Phil Bickers, Robin Derrick to name a few.

We’ll hear about how the magazine began, how it developed, and its continuing influence in a rare chance to hear directly from Nick Logan.

Tickets cost £10 and all profits will go to the Alzheimers Society.
