An excellently titled, tome-like publication chronicling 50 years of artists' zines from North America, Copy Machine Manifestos is a rich archive of zine culture, production and aesthetics. Beginning with the 1970s, the visual survey is split across five decades, featuring over eight hundred beautiful and iconic zines (covers, spreads and all), plus the artists and collectives behind them.
Published alongside a 2023/4 exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, New York, it's a treasure trove of North American visual and publishing (sub)culture, and certainly the next best thing to seeing the exhibition IRL.
