Art historian Ruth Guilding's The Bible of British Taste began as an online blog over a decade ago, with an eclectic and folk-infused offering of artists, interiors and craft. Now in its third issue, the magazine sees itself as a ‘portmanteau’ of eclectic objects, interiors, mythology, objects and art, bringing the blog's ethos to print with its decorative design and more selective features.
Plenty on Wales this issue: an ancient house, legendary landscapes, a walk to the Stone of Gronw, an essay against the romanticisation of hiraeth, and firebombing English holiday homes in the 80s. Elsewhere, a peek into the collection of former World of Interiors creative director Jessica Hayns, a love triangle featuring Virginia Woolf, and the healing wells of Cornwall.
