This issue of Brighton’s Off Licence is centred around the nocturnal magic of nightlife. Inside, you’ll find punchy design and words revolved around the artists, DJs, curators, heritage and communities of club culture.
Themed ‘Space’, the issue delves into the multifaceted ways in which this can be interpreted within dance music—from the closure of club spaces, such as London’s beloved Corsica Studios, to the necessity for a re-evaluation of the accessibility of venues, alongside a wider nurturing of a culture of care within the industry. Additionally, dub legend Mad Professor reflects on his pioneering career, from his humble beginnings in a tiny home studio to building the longest-running independent studio in the UK dedicated to Black music, and, following the release of her second studio album ‘Hooke’s Law’, Chicago native KeiyaA considers the impact her environment has on her distinct sound.
As always, the issue has two covers, depending on which end of the magazine you start with.
