Wyrd Science celebrates the strange culture of RPGs (role playing games), wargames, boardgames, science fiction, fantasy and other playful nonsense. 

The fifth issue closes out the year and looks ahead with the theme 'Future Imperfect.' It takes ‘a remarkably unfestive look’ at tabletop games' fascination with dystopias from the grim dark future of Warhammer 40,000 through to the slapstick Kafka'esque satire of Paranoia and the neon noir of Blade Runner.

Away from fictional horrors Dan Thurot looks at board games that have confronted real world social and political issues and speaks to those behind games like Votes For Women, This Guilty Land and Stonewall Uprising.
