Unknown Quantities is an annual publication co-produced by students on the MA Culture, Criticism and Communication and MA Graphic Communication Design courses at Central Saint Martins. Each issue, written and designed by a different cohort of students every year, brings ‘design into dialogue with critical writing and cultural debate’.
This twelfth issue—themed ‘Lost and Found’—has an appropriately ephemeral quality, printed on recycled paper with the occasional translucent vellum page inside. You'll find contributions covering ‘the tension of impermanence’, from resistance radio and Chinatowns, to 1980s acid house and liminal space.
