‘It’s a dirty job but somebody’s got to do it!’

Progetto Reperto is an editorial project devoted to costume design and craftsmanship, with a format that evolves with each issue to reflect its theme. Founded in Rome, it publishes content in both English and Italian.

Issue three brings together contributions from a range of artists, photographers, and writers, united under the notion of ‘smuggling’ and ‘the smuggler’—an autonomous figure, both revered and feared, who breaks the rules and engages in revolt and underground exchanges—hailed here as ‘a cultural mediator, agent of informal economies, and carrier of symbolic capital.’

Expect: shop talk with the founders of fabled New York boutique Paracelso; a glimpse into the treasured archives of Oslo’s International Library of Fashion Research; field notes from a trip to Naples with curator Giulia Pollicita, drawing parallels between the stories told on the streets and performed on the stage; Di Potito Forte on the transformative potential of the living archive; Margherita Musi in conversation with up-and-coming experimental musician Verde Prato; and a semi-serious guide to smuggling. All this and more, alongside fashion editorials by the likes of June Lihua Yu and Marco Lombardi.
