Draft001 is a highly visual bilingual magazine, platforming ‘emerging voices, underground scenes and unknown artists shaping contemporary culture from its margins.’ Published every two years, each issue functions as a layered visual archive, prioritising process over imposed order.
‘Last night, I dreamt of snakes’, writes editor-in-chief Shayma Ait in this issue’s opening editorial, which explores the symbolism of snakes and the power of the subconscious in revealing ‘something not yet visible’. It is in this radical in-between that the issue began to take shape; themed ‘The Dream Machine’, it documents the creative process of over 150 contributors—spanning art, fashion, photography, music and visual media—resulting in a kaleidoscopic volume of image and text.
