Luru Magazine is a new title devoted to life in Bengaluru, consisting of cultural commentary, personal reflections, short stories and interviews, the magazine invites readers ‘to rediscover Bengaluru, one page at a time.’ This latest issue, themed ‘Nature_Nurture’, explores the city’s relationship to nature and ecology.

Opening this edition is the first in a series of four stories written in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Dakhni—accompanied by English translations—that explore ‘the force and function of narrative’. Inspired by ‘Beneath the Turning Sky’, an exhibition on display at the Museum of Art and Photography, these tales are hinged around the evolution of a day and are dotted throughout this edition. Elsewhere, discover the endangered Malabar civet, a species spotted in recent years by only one credible witness and whose rapid disappearance has left Malabarians asking if it existed at all; Sahana Srikanth frames buses as a stage for ‘the theatre of the everyday’, as she recounts how she fell in love with her commute; plus, the photographic series ‘New Sprouts’ from ‘More Than Human’ art competition winner Kaushik M explores the uneasy coexistence of nature and urban structures.
