'A music community for those that dig deeper'
Created by a group of writers and record diggers and relaunched in 2021, Wax Poetics is a cult music mag featuring 'trailblazers, cultures and stories that shape the sounds of yesterday, today, and beyond', spanning hip-hop, funk, techno, tropicalia, jazz, and beyond. As they put it, 'whether you’re a record head, or just starting to explore your passion for music, you’ll find something here for you.'
This issue is another double-sided affair, featuring Japanese electronic trio Yellow Magic Orchestra on the front cover and 90s hip hop artist Bahamadia on the back. With cover stories on both inside, you'll also find pieces on London's Latin jazz scene; the funk of Clevand's Dazz Band in the 80s; an iconic record shop in Paris; profiles on Rhoda Scott and Gail Sky King; and an interview with keyboardist Brian Auger.
