The magCulture Fair
We’re excited to announce that the first magCulture Fair will take place in London on Saturday 4 July, with 40 publishers showcasing and selling their magazines.
We’ve selected 40 titles to represent the best of the independent magazines we celebrate. They include magazines about design, wine, juggling, sex, food, sport, art, film, fashion and much more. Most are local, but we also have publishers coming from Denmark, Hong Kong, Japan and the US. What they all have in common is a love of the printed form, and the desire to offer readers an escape from their digital devices.
We’ve wanted to organise an event like this in London for some time and thanks to our friends at Pentagram we’ve now found the perfect venue. The studio recently moved from west London to Islington, not far from our Shop, and their new home has the perfect space for a magazine fair. The set-up follows the classic formula: each publisher gets a space to set out their magazine and chat and sell to visitors.
Exhibiting magazines:

The Fair is our latest project to celebrate the magazines we love, bringing publishers together and giving Londoners the opportunity to check out the best indies and meet the publishers behind them. With the support of Pentagram, the exhibiting publishers are not being charged to participate, and entrance is free to the public—the only money changing hands will be publishers selling their magazines. We hope the Fair will attract the regular magCulture audience as well as spread the word to new customers.
London printer Park Communications will be present too, showcasing the work that goes into the production of small-run print magazines.
We encourage you to bring your old tote bags to carry your new magazines home!
The Fair is free to visit, but if you plan to come please register on Eventbrite for the chance to win a prize in our free raffle (or you can just come along on the day.)
The magCulture Fair takes place on Saturday 4 July, from 12–5pm at Pentagram, entrance at 46 Essex Rd, London N1 8LN
