‘The Rise of Print’ at MagFest

Yesterday was day one of PPA Scotland’s MagFest event, and Andrew and I arrived early to fine-tune our magCulture ‘Rise of Print’ exhibition. 40 magazines are represented by a poster-sized front cover, written description and copies for visitors to flick through. The selections were made a while back, the boards designed and sent to print ten days ago, and this is the first time everything has been brought together.

Seeing the magazines together was a very exciting moment. The exhibition wasn’t conceived as a definitive ‘best of’ selection; rather it provides a snapshot of the creative power of current independent magazine publishing. For those unable to make it to Edinburgh, we’ll post the full set of magazines later this week.
