‘A symptom of time spent outdoors’

Amateurs is a generously-sized bit of outdoorsy appreciation on our shelves, produced by Brooklyn-based brand FSP Outdoors. It’s an aesthetically pleasing (if not explicitly gorp-y) mix of photography, fashion/gear and musings on endeavours in the wild, with this issue invoking birdsong as a guide to how an outdoor magazine can communicate.

It’s a global mix: inside this fourth issue, Miwa Susuda delves into ‘Snowland,’ Hiroshi Hamaya’s 1950’s photographic account of rural north eastern Japan, highlighting the renewed importance of his unique perspective amidst evolving AI image technology; and Blair Kemp interviews outdoor content creator Andrew Drummond about the community and events surrounding his Ski the Whites shop nestled in The White Mountain range in New Hampshire.
