Accord sits somewhere between a ‘magazine, memo, mood board, journal, footnotes, sheet music, or photo album’, and is composed of a tactile amalgamation of fold-out and half-width pages, alongside various types of matt and glossy paper stock.
This inaugural issue showcases art spanning a full spectrum of creative mediums—from Ding Shilun’s absurd pictorial paintings, referencing his Chinese heritage, topical events and a canonical history of art, to Anna-Lena Krauss’s sculptural practice, interrogating connection across tangible and digital spheres. Conversations with the filmmakers Shuli Huang and Dorothy Sing Zhang shed light on the role of personal lived experience in shaping a film’s language.
