A risoprinted quarterly, Wobby exists as a platform for autonomous illustration, visual art, and literature in the Netherlands, showcasing up to 20 different artists each issue. This 42nd edition is themed ‘Lore Galore’ and was curated in collaboration with the illustrator Mari Campistron.
In Mari’s words: ‘The edition highlights how myths and traditions are reimagined through contemporary perspectives that embrace queer culture and challenge patriarchal norms. Folklore becomes flexible and alive, constantly reshaped by the present.’
The wider collective ‘Wobby.club’ was founded in 2015 by Jeroen de Leijer, Marjolein Schalk and S.L. Trumpstein (Stephan de Weert), a group of artists rooted in the absurdist tradition.
