‘The ocean outside, the ocean inside’
To emphasise Sirene’s commitment to the sea, it’s printed on a paper made from algae (from algal blooms found in at risk lagoons). And there’s a lot of blue throughout its large format pages, a bit like a holiday.
Issue 23 includes a kayak trip around Manhattan, an illustrated overview of early deep-sea diving equipment, and a visual ode to swimming from New York Review of Books art director Leanne Shapton. Plus sailing in Cornwall and surfing in France.
