‘A global photography journey’
A beautifully produced, large-format photography biannual exploring the relationship between humans and the natural world. Presented as a series of back-to-back folios, each issue curates images from, as the title suggests, an archipelagic mix of emerging and established photographers in whose work ‘similarities are sometimes hidden and subtle’.
This sophomore issue—themed ‘Morning’—attempts to replicate the quiet feeling at the start of the day when nothing is yet decided, and possibilites are plentiful. Inside, Dalia Al-Dujaili opens the issue with an essay insisting that light will come in the face of uncertainty, followed by a conversation with Milagros Miceli about social injustice in the age of AI, Venetian composer Gigi Masin discusses maintaining inspiration decade after decade, and Paul Watson reflects on a life dedicated to protecting the ocean. Plus, photography from Alexandra A. Garcia, Etienne Francey, Juijian Wen, Vivek Vadoliya, Tami Aftab, and many more.
