‘If you’re asked, “what’s a fay?” just answer, “a gay who has spread their wings”’

A new bilingual publication from France, Fay is a queer photography magazine ‘devoted to the thousand shades of gay in the natural world’. Tracing the etymology of its name will give you an insight into the ethereal world underneath its glossy cover; the word ‘fay’ is most commonly associated with the French for fairy [faie], as well as the Latin fatum [fate].

Primarily consisting of soft-focus photographic representations of queer relationships, often filtered through an erotic lens, this debut issue also includes an inspiring profile by   Raphaël Chatelain on Savage Ranch, a safe space for California’s LGBTQ+ community to create and live, watched over by heir and patron Love Bailey.
