Inque #3
245 x 340mm, 226 pages
London & New York
Annual, for ten years only
First published 2021
Editor: Dan Crowe
Design and art direction: Matt Willey
The third instalment of the annual magazine set for a limited ten-year run, Inque is Dan Crowe and Matt Willey’s dream project, a heavyweight literary/arts mag without advertising or other commercial compromise. The two have collaborated on multiple magazines over the years—Zembla, Port and others—all of which have been building up to Inque.
As always, Inque arrives in a satisfyingly heavyweight format: large but not too large, and impressively timeless in design and production, including a series of bespoke section dividers by Matt Willey. They split the pages into four sections: Non-fiction, Fiction, Interviews and Art.
Fiction contributors this issue include Alexander Chee, Maya Binham, Rita Bullwinkel and Shuang Xuetao, as well as the third part of Janathan Lethen’s novel that will complet with issue ten of the magazine. Non fiction writers include Edmund de Waal, Sophie Haigney, Will Self, and Philip Hoare.
Plus art from Matt Dorfman and Pablo Declan, and photography by Jelka von Langen, Poppy Jones, Agnes Lloyd and Chiseka Fortune Smith.
