New Papers is a London-based literary title, which initially aimed to publish monthly, but has since developed into a more considered quarterly. Unassuming in its form and provocative in content, it features a trifold wraparound that functions as both graphic masthead (front panel) and editor’s note (front & back panel). Each issue is accompanied by a complementary live reading, animating the host of eccentric characters who inhabit its unembellished pages.

Combining fiction and poetry, this sixth edition brings together six new works that traverse a remarkable range of subjects, from Olympic champion figure skater Alysia Liu to the rhythms of everyday life on safari in Somalia. Together, these pieces demonstrate the written word’s ability to conjure vivid worlds, transporting readers far beyond the monochrome confines of the page.

On the Journal
At work with Colton Karpman: ‘I dislike the idea of influencing or casting a shadow over a reader’s engagement with the contents of each issue. As always, New Papers remains a paragon of objectivity and impartiality. The Editor’s Note achieves its goal insofar as it as unobtrusively as possible introduces the issue to the reader.’
