The Funambulist #68

200 x 250 mm, 84 pages
Paris, France (English-language)
Bimonthly
Editor-in-chief: Léopold Lambert
Graphic design: Akakir Studio

A magazine concerning the ‘politics of space and bodies’, which along with its podcast and blog, is building an archive for anti-colonial, anti-racist, queer, and feminist struggles. Now published in English, French, and Spanish (we have the English version).

In this latest issue for November/December 2026, The Funambulist examines the relationship between masculinities and coloniality, two key areas of leftist concern that are most challenging to combine, as editor Léopold Lambert notes in his introduction to the issue. ‘We try to practice a nuanced analysis arguing against the idea that colonial violence has the power to demasculinize people, examining post-traumatic fatherhood after the Indian Residental/Boading Schools in the Canadian and US settler colonies… and thinking with Black and Brown British men’s fantasies around Paris and Marseille.’

On the Journal
At work with Léopold Lambert: ‘Two thirds of our incomes come from subscriptions (annual or monthly, digital only or print and digital), which is really the key point of our ‘business model’ (always a word that sounds odd in the context of an anti-capitalist publication…).’
