KSENOI is a playful illustrated zine ‘that supports artists who feel like a ‘xeno’, exploring themes of heritage, identity and belonging through art and community.’ Its name, drawn from the word ‘ksenos’, is often translated as ‘stranger’ or ‘foreigner’, though its original Ancient Greek meaning carries a quieter generosity—closer to ‘guest’, even ‘friend’.
Reimagining the term and the concept of otherness, this sophomore issue opens a dialogue on identity and belonging through the illustrated story of Ed (Thread). Leaf through to the end and you’ll find a chocolatey recipe from editor Anna Marki’s yiayia’s personal cookbook and an interactive labyrinth game, tracing the ‘way to happiness’.
