‘Where faith meets ambition’
Named after the most blessed day of the week, FRIDAY is an independent print magazine for Muslim women who ‘lead with faith and live with ambition’. At its heart is the belief that these two forces are not opposing ideals, but ‘two halves of the same conviction’—a philosophy reflected in the magazine’s celebration of the extraordinary things Muslim women achieve.
Their third issue, themed ‘Identity’, explores the idea that identity is rarely fixed or immediately visible; instead, it reveals itself in layers, and understanding it is a responsibility. At the centre of the issue is the cover story, ‘Becoming Unapologetically Her’, which follows three women whose very different paths have each led them towards a stronger sense of self. Elsewhere, you’ll find essays about the quiet emotional cost of code-switching and why choosing to veil is not an erasure of the self. Alongside these reflections are a selection of beauty and lifestyle recommendations, a ‘Hijabi Toolkit’, and a rip-out page inviting readers to write a letter to their future selves.
