Issue 42 of See All This has been created in collaboration with renowned South African artist Marlene Dumas, and is devoted to ‘The Body’ as ‘a site of power, vulnerability, pleasure and transformation.’
Structured in three parts—the political, the cyclical, and the sensual—the issue opens with correspondence between editor Nicole Ex and Dumas, mapping out their plans for the issue. They share references and discuss other artists as they formulate the issue. The three sections follow, with essays and ‘exhibition-on-pape’ sampling work from the likes of Derek Jarman, David Hammons and Victor Hugo, plus a portfolio of work from Dumas delving into desire and seduction.
