Shipping and Click + Collect FAQs

The magCulture Shop

Due to the continuing lockdown restrictions, we can only sell our magazines online at the moment. If you’re local, you can use our Click+Collect service by selecting ‘Pick Up’ at checkout stage.

Once you receive email confirmation, you can then collect your magazines from our Clerkenwell Shop, weekdays 11am-6pm (270 St John Street EC1V 4PE).

We hope to be able to reopen the Shop to customers on Monday 12 April.

 

Shipping

We continue to Ship locally and globally every weekday. Covid-19 is causing less problems and delays, but deliveries to the EU remain unpredictable.

When you order from the EU, all known costs are covered on our Shop site, but there are random occasions where extra fees and duties get added at the delivery point. This is out of our control, and like every other online Shop we’re still trying to establish what the new rules are.

Online orders

We pack and post all orders ourselves at our London Shop, aiming to dispatch those received before 2pm local time on the same day, Monday through Friday. Orders placed after 2pm on a Friday will usually be dispatched the following Monday.

All items are carefully and securely packed in card envelopes or boxes.

We use two shipping services: Royal Mail up to 2kg weight, and DHL for heavier packages. The change from one service to the other is based on price.

For more expensive items/orders we strongly recommend selecting a tracked service: either Royal Mail Tracked or DHL.

Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express card payments online.

 

Address details

Please make sure you use the correct delivery name and address, and provide a working email address and phone number. This is extra important while so many people are working from home instead of work.

We cannot be responsible for incorrect addressing if you use the wrong one on your order. If you realise you’ve made a mistake call us as soon as possible – we ship every day so you need to catch us quick!

Order confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email shortly after placing your order. Please check the email and if you have any questions or concerns, email or give us a call right away.

We will respond to emails as soon as we can Monday through Friday, during shop hours (currently 11am–6pm).

 

UK

Orders weighing under 2kg are sent via Royal Mail First Class. We strongly recommend paying the slightly higher rate and selecting ‘Signed For’ at checkout — we cannot vouch for your package's safe delivery otherwise.

You also have the option of choosing DHL Express should you require guaranteed next-day delivery (read on for details of DHL services).

Orders over 2kg are delivered using DHL Express. This is a next-day, trackable service, and is the default option as it is cheaper than Royal Mail for that weight.

Note: DHL orders placed before 14:00 GMT Monday through Thursday will be dispatched same day and delivered the following day. Orders placed between 14:00 GMT on Thursday and 14:00 GMT on Friday won't arrive until Monday. Those placed on the weekend (after 14:00 on Friday) will arrive Tuesday.

 

London bike delivery

Should you need your magazines delivered within London in a hurry, we offer delivery via courier service Gophr. This option is available at check out for deliveries Monday through Friday between 12:00 and 17:00. Visit gophr.com to find out more about their service.

If you are local and want to avoid shipping costs, you can opt for our Click + Collect service, see above.

 

International

Orders weighing less than 2kg are sent via Royal Mail. We strongly recommend paying the slightly higher rate and selecting ‘Tracked & Signed’ at checkout — we cannot vouch for your package's safe delivery otherwise.

Apart from the US (see next para), orders over 2kg are delivered using DHL Express.

All US orders weighing more than 0.76kg will be shipped using DHL as this is cheaper than current US mail rates and more secure. Smaller US orders (<0.75kg) will use Royal Mail tracked and signed.

Please note that certain countries, such as Australia and Brazil, allow for either tracked or signed, but not both. In such cases, we will always choose tracked for ‘Tracked & Signed’ deliveries unless you request otherwise.

Please note: Orders placed after 14:00 GMT on a Friday won't be dispatched until Monday. Some European customers have the option of choosing DHL Economy Select — this is a road service and will take a few days longer than Express. Take a look at DHL's Service Guide for delivery times.


Receipt

Deliveries will include a full receipt (note that VAT is not charged on magazines or books in the UK).

Descriptions

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that the details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the website are correct at the time of publishing.

 

Returns

If there are any problems with your order please let us know as soon as possible.
