Inherent Vice is a new zine dedicated to queer culture within the heritage sector—bringing together conservators, archivists, collection carers, and librarians to build a like-minded professional community.

This third issue was produced in collaboration with the Linnean Society of London, drawing inspiration from their February 2026 symposium exploring the intersection between queerness and natural history. Inside, award winning drag king Bi-Curious George interrogates heteronormative rationales for homosexuality in the animal kingdom, editor Shoun Obana sits down with Irish artist Jack Scollard to reflect on his ongoing project ‘Cruising Archaeology’, Emilia Zeslawska delves into Dr Ross Brooks’ research exploring queerness within evolutionary biology, and Helen Beckett looks back at Kew Garden’s 2023 Queer Festival, following a talk by the programme’s interpretation producer, science writer Paolo Cocco.

Plus, tucked away inside the back page of this edition readers can expect an illustrated mini zine curated by Dr Chloe Asker showcasing a series of ‘academic and poetic’ book recommendations devoted to queer ecology.
