Born out of Angel & Z Radio, a New York-based skate and graffiti podcast that first aired in the summer of 2020, the 2022 launch of Living Proof magazine marked a transition in medium, aiming ‘to continue the traditional practice of printed media within graffiti culture.’ Combining interviews with heavily contrasted flash photography, each issue of Living Proof spotlights key figures from the New York skate and street art scene and beyond.
Paul ‘HR’ Hudson—the frontman of American punk rock band Bad Brains—headlines this edition. Elsewhere, Living Proof casts its cultural lens over a wide range of talent, featuring interviews with Los Angeles-based street artist Saber, independent publisher and co-founder of ‘des pair books’ Addison Kirst, and skateboarder and ‘Deathwish’ co-founder Erik Ellington. Plus, Stephen Laidlaw—aka ‘Teen’—delves into the evolution of Crack Gallery, a Vancouver-based gallery and publishing house he founded in 2015.
