Miss Render is a satirical magazine disguised as a catalogue for the primed cover star and fictional AI assistant of the same name. Dreamt up by editor Connor Patrick O’Brien as part of his Central Saint Martins fashion journalism course, Miss Render is a professional ‘sales assistant, customer-service agent, brand ambassador and apology machine.’

Presented on newsprint, the magazine riffs off a variety of vintage advertising, in particular the aesthetic of nineties’ Apple commercials. Inside, O’Brien sheds light on our obsession with AI domestic cat dramas—‘AI cats are marrying, dying and getting arrested. Humans should be worried’—in a pithy feature interrogating the phenomenon; an AI version of TV personality Katie Price compares the sexiest supermarkets and delivers a succinct history of WW2—ending in ‘bombs n victory lol’; and O’Brien takes a scathing look at a controversial troupe of AI influencers recently recruited by fashion retail platform SheerLuxe.

Readers can also expect adverts bolstered by self assured exclamations from Render herself, beckoning them to invest, and an array of AI generated editorials to pore over.
