‘Film photography by contemporary artists’
Pamplemousse platforms emerging and established talents in the world of film photography, with particular effort to support under-represented voices. Each issue is packed with full colour photographs, features, essays, and interviews.
This 13th issue, themed ‘Recollection’, grew from founder/editor Nora Lalle‘s deep fascination with found photographs, elevating forgotten snap shots to works of art. Interwoven with works from Lalle’s own collection, you’ll encounter analogue projects directly drawing inspiration from the lost fragments and contextualising them within themes of intimacy, family, belonging, heritage and identity.
The issue also includes excerpts from an album by Project B, the archive and artistic practice of Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey, alongside a look at Cody Bratt’s book ’The Other Stories’, in which he dissects a dark family history through the archives of two families, with one of the images featured on the cover of this issue.
