Sexy Plate Sexy Space is a new biannual print publication taking a sensual look at food, design and culture, encouraging readers to savour the experience of everyday life, and immerse themselves in a new city with every issue. As founding editor Irene Krueger asserts: ‘Texture, atmosphere, intimacy and presence sit at the center of our editorial lens.’
This sophomore edition is devoted to Mexico City—or as Krueger jokingly refers to it ‘Sexico City’—with each story accompanied by its own soundtrack curated by Mexico City-based sound architect Ana Velasco, accessible via QR code.
Inside, Krueger introduces hidden bar ‘Roma Norte’ in a descriptive feature examining the interior and energy of this surreptitious ‘womb-like’ venue; meets María of ‘Casa María Cacao’, who shares her conceptual home devised around chocolate in an homage to its ceremonial legacy; and an erotic editorial from Bailey Rebecca Roberts captures the tactile nature of fruit, salt and spice.
